This is just a RP between my character Delila and Lavi. Don't post here!
As you may have read, Delila was living with crocodiles her entire life, and cannot speak. Lavi and Bookman are sent to her to try and communicate with her and calm her down.
The POV will switch from Delila to Lavi. Bookman's just there to look old.
Setting:um...some stone room that's like forty degrees colder than the rest of the order, possibly used for experiments on humans long ago.
Also, you need to understand that even though her thoughts are in english, she does not know how to speak. these are just general ideas of what she thinks is going on. so you need to understand that for a being with such large thought capacity, this is a very confusing experience.
-Delila's POV-
cold earth hung at her feet, making escape impossible. She would have bitten through the earth (which were really iron shackles that held her arms, legs and tail fast), but they were too far for her knobby jaws.
'Wh-where am I?! those humans took me here...My family! by brothers and sisters! what...how....
escape. I need to escape.'
-Lavi's POV-
"So, old man, what are we doing again?"
Bookman sighed irritably.
"Lavi, there was a young woman found on a finder's mission to Africa. She was apparently found with crocodiles. and not being attacked by them either. She was one of their group."
"The term is a bask of crocodiles, old man."
Bookman swatted Lavi across the back of his head.
"I don't care. She cannot understand or speak english, so the science department can't get her to calm down enough to bring her to Hevlaska."
"....oh."
As the two approached the room, loud banging noises became louder as they drew nearer. Feral shouts and roars echoed as well. Bookman placed his hand on the doorknob, not bothering to knock.
"get ready, Lavi."
-Delila's POV-
The black iron slab creaked open. in front of her, there were two humans. one was small and had wrinkled skin, with just a bit of fur on the top of his head. the other was taller and had red fur on his head, the messy style reminding her of a lion's mane. he also had a black piece of cloth covering his eye, and she felt herself longing to put out his other one.
'maybe I can scare them off..."
She hissed in the back of her throat like her brothers had shown her, and then opened her jaws to show them where their eternal resting place would soon be.
-Lavi POV-
Lavi was shocked upon seeing the accomodator. he had expected a girl with some twigs in her hair, and instead there was this...thing. her eyes, her feet, her arms...and that tail! it was strange and somewhat disgusting. Especially when she started hissing.
"Uh...old man, what's she doing?"
Bookman chuckled. "She's threatening us."
Bookman walked to the girl, who continued to hiss loudly.
"Calm down, you're making a racket, girl."
She lunged at him, only to forget that she was chained back and fell to the ground, and proceeded to thrash around trying to escape.
"Lavi, if you want to try, then go ahead. stay away from her mouth, though. crocodiles are quick to bite. very hard."
-Delila's POV-
'Gaaah! stupid, stupid, stupid!'
She was confused. she was tired. she was scared for her family, and scared for her life. she wanted to go back home and swim in the river and hunt with her brothers.
She felt something welling up in her chest that was uncomfortable and nauseating. her vision grew blurry, and even though she tried to blink back the water with her third eyelid, there was no avoiding it now. She gave in and collapsed to the floor, wailing and squeaking in a manner most unfitting of a proud crocodile.
-Lavi POV-
Lavi had heard the expression 'crocodile tears', but what happened when you couldn't tell whether or not it was the crocodile that was crying? it sure didn't sound like one. He walked over to the shivering girl slowly. preparing to jump back at any time, he lowered his hand and touched her hair ever so gently. She didn't seem to notice, so he ran his fingertips along it. it was awful. it was greasy and tangled and muddy and bloody and smelly. but he still kept at it. Finally, the girl looked up at lavi, who shivered when he saw her blink away more tears with a transparent eyelid. He pointed at himself and said slowly,
"Lavi."
She mouthed the word without making a sound, and then she slowly raised a webbed claw and traced the edge of Lavi's lips. He avoided flinching that time, partly out of fear. Deciding on a name, he put a hand on her and said slowly,
"Delila."
This time, she made sound come from her lips.
"D...da...del...delil...lil...lila. De...lila. Delila."
She smiled when she saw him nod. her eyelids grew heavy, and she drfted off to sleep.
((Okay, I know t sucks to end it there, but I am very tired. and it didn't turn out anything like I wanted. She is much more ferocious than how I made her out to be. when I incorperate her into other RPs, it'll be more loyal to how I want her to be.))
